In approximately 1833 Charles Babbage invented all the parts that are now used in a modern day computer. The first programmable computer, called Z1, was invented by Konrad Zuse approximately 100 years later in 1936. The first one gigabyte disk drive was released in 1980, which cost $40,000 USD, weighed almost 550 pounds and was the size of a refrigerator.
