I Love SMArt


The UWindsor Science Academy Program is a free outreach program for Windsor and Essex County secondary students designed to engage them in scientific activities at the University of Windsor which took place during the week of July 9. We had the top grade 11 students from the area do an icebreaker which involved drawing about themselves using science themes.

Light and Libations was also part of the University of Windsor’s, Science on Tap event series. It took place on May 24, in which Taylor’s "Introduction to Medical Physics" was displayed, along with Lauren Szucki's "Hero" and "Eye-ronic".

Science Rendezvous is a free, public event that took place at the University of Windsor on May 12. In general, Science Rendezvous serves as a public platform to promote science awareness and increase science literacy in Canada. SMArt members created the photo booth that was present at the event, and a display table.

Cheers to Hope was part of the University of Windsor's, Science Uncorked event series. Hosted by the Windsor Cancer Research Group, this community outreach event was focused on public education about cancer and local research. Many pieces were included in this event, including Loren's "Nerve Impulse", Lauren's mitosis piece, and Elaina's cell division piece.

Cloudy with a Chance of Beer was also part of the University of Windsor's, Science on Tap event series. It took place on March 26, in which Dante showcased his series called "Cells in the Sky".

Boozy Brains was also part of the University of Windsor's, Science on Tap event series. It took place on March 14, in which Taylor "Introduction to Medical Physics", along with Kate's "You've Got Nerve", and Kathleen's "Gray's Anatomy" and "I LOVE SMArt logo".

I LOVE SMArt was a fundraising event that took place on February 14. This was the first event that SMArt organized, which raised money for art supplies.

Birds and Beer was the first event SMArt participated in. It took place on November 23, 2017, and is part of the University of Windsor's, Science on Tap event series. Dante showcased his series "Invasive verses Threatened", which displayed invasive and threatened species in Windsor and Essex county.
